Since we are now in the dead of winter, our skin has really taken a toll from the cold, dry air. Here are our essential tips for keeping your skin healthy this winter:
Dry brushing your skin with a stiff body brush is thought to encourage lymphatic drainage and give your skin a thorough exfoliation.
Exfoliate your body with a gentle body scrub to slough off any dead skin to reveal glowing, polished skin. If you don’t already have a body scrub, you don’t need to go out and buy one. You can easily DIY a gentle body scrub from ingredients you probably already have in your home!
Shea Butter Body Scrub Recipe
2 tablespoons Shea butter
4 tablespoons coconut oil
½ cup sugar
15-20 drops lavender essential oil
This is a super simple recipe the can be thrown together in just a few minutes. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until fully combined. You can also salt in place of sugar for a bit of a rougher scrub. Use this scrub in the shower or bath to exfoliate by rubbing in circular motions to the skin. Rinse off.
